BRACKENRIDGE
I have been breeding Golden Retrievers since 1983. I am a small family kennel. I live with my husband, dogs and my Ragdoll cat on 50 acres of fields and bush just outside Ottawa. Zak is a Blue Bi-Colour Ragdoll. We are 3 minutes away from a sandy beach on a river. The dogs are house dogs. I do have a small indoor/outdoor kennel with a compound attached. When the weather is suitable they go out there for part of the day. Their preference is the couch in the family room!! I am involved in conformation, obedience, agility, field and Therapy Dogs.
My first Golden - Ambertrails Golden Bracken, earned a Dog World award with her CD. She went on to earn her Obedience Trial Championship. My Brackenridge's I'm Bracken Too also earned a Dog World award and a High in trial in her CDX title. I have bred Goldens invoved in various activities : Guide Dogs, Obedience dogs, Field dogs, Therapy dogs, and family pets.
I am a founding member of The Ottawa Valley Golden Retriever Club. We just celebrated our 30th anniversary.I have served on the board for several years . I am also a member of The Golden Retriever Club of Canada, The Canadian Kennel Club, The Ottawa Kennel Club, The Bytown Dog Obedience Club and Ottawa Therapy dogs.
My breeding bitches are cleared for hips, elbows, heart and eyes. Eyes are cleared every year. All my puppies are sold on CKC non-breeding contracts. This can only be lifted under certain circumstances. If at any time a family cannot keep the puppy or dog it has to come back to me. I want to know where my puppies are going. I have a questionnaire for families to fill out so I can place the right puppy in the right home. My vet has looked after my dogs since I started breeding. The puppies are born and raised in the family room. When they are old enough they can play in the puppy playground attached to the family room.
You are welcome to come and visit at any time and meet the girls.
We have 50 acres of woods and fields. In the winter we have trails through the woods.
The puppy playground has all kinds of play things . Climbing ramps, wobbly board, tunnel, tire, sand box, pool, balls and many other "children's toys.

Zak is quite a character!! He loves to go in anything. He has no fear of the dogs and will curl up with them.He has the typical flop of the Ragdoll.
